I saw my first crocus today Beautiful purple with splashes of yellow proudly struggling to stay afloat amid great winds & rain. Despite its inhospitable welcome, there is no question that that small flower, and all those to follow, are not retreating. After all, it is Spring.
The crocus is also a poignant and special symbol to me of renewal on a personal level. After a week in hospital with pneumonia & flu, I am back with renewed vigor & enthusiasm, and so is Audrey. This season promises to be as fruitful as last season, which was our best in 23 years! So many returning and new guests came to visit, filling our rooms with a conviviality much missed during the dreary grey of winter.
Along with symbols of renewal, Spring brings change. We welcome with open arms our new general manager, Bianca Sparbanie, who has taken Tracy’s place when we sadly lost her to a new venture of her own, a health food/natural foods shop in Wurtsboro, which she opened a few months ago.
Bianca comes to us from Poughkeepsie with degrees from the hotel & hospitality school at Penn State University. Her youth & creativity bring a new sparkle to the Farmhouse. We are also thrilled to have Renee on our staff. Accomplished equine specialist, advanced sous chef, master flower and plant aficionado, and a great wife and lady to boot, Renee resets the horizons to which a deaf lady can attain her joviality & hospitable attitude will definitely be well received and appreciated at the Farmhouse.
We are not only excited about the new characters on staff and our current winter clean up and Spring improvements (the winter was harsh on the old Farmhouse this year), but also by the vast money and improvements to being invested by MTA in Newburgh’s Stewart Airport, all of which brings us closer to our guests and newcomers!
Our international business continues to expand and we welcome all dogs of foreign birth! At Audreys, we take nothing for granted. We continually work very hard with both hand and heart to maintain our standing as the foremost pet friendly B& B in the country. Welcome Spring, and a warm welcome to all our friends!
